This year's annual Wings Over Illawarra (WOI) Airport Open Day was held on Sunday 28 February at the Illawarra Regional Airport. The event, organised by Shellharbour City Council and the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS), saw thousands of locals and tourists visit the airport to enjoy the numerous displays and exhibitions on show. The day also gave visitors the opportunity to learn more about some of the facilities the airport provides as a significant asset for the region.
Some of the highlights of WOI-10 included the impressive collection of historic aircraft from the HARS museum, a radio-controlled aircraft demonstration, a fly in of light aircraft from the South Coast SAAA, and a range of military displays, including the FA18, Roulettes and Parachute Jumps by the Red Berets.
Thank you to everyone who organised, participated in and attended Wings Over Illawarra 2010 and helped to make the day such a success.
