Wings Over Illawarra a huge success!
Thanks to everyone who helped make our airport open day, Wings Over Illawarra, a
great regional event. Organised in partnership with the Historical Aircraft
Restoration Society (HARS) Wings Over Illawarra drew a bumper crowd to the
airport on Sunday 22 February.
Highlights of the day included the spectacular appearance by the Roulettes, the
extensive military display and the impressive HARS exhibition which included
Connie, the last flying Lockheed Super Constellation, a Neptune Bomber and
Dakota. Now in its third year, Wings Over Illawarra has turned into one of the
most popular and well attended events on the region’s calendar.
The Illawarra Regional Airport is located at the intersection of the F6, Princes and Illawarra Highways at Albion Park Rail. The airport is a 60-minute drive from Mascot and 30 minutes from Sydney's southern suburbs. An electric rail service is available from Sydney to Albion Park Rail on the South Coast rail line.
